I had ready to grab servings ready to go using mini cupcake liners!

The cake was actually a Monster High birthday cake from Walmart. I just took off the decorations & used an A & G from the scrapbook stuff American Girl sent me. Then I got mini cupcakes from WM for the dolls 🙂

I’m no Betty Crocker!  I totally just grabbed some of these at the checkout & cut them up…

American Girl carries the American Girl Craft partyware online….it matches the doll plates in the pic below…but I didn’t have time to have them shipped & Michaels didn’t have them.

I opened most of the stuff and added scissors, markers, & glue sticks…and had them all out on the table for the girls to use whatever they wanted.

The scrapbooks were so cute! I loved the prompts each page had!

This is the stuff leftover that I didn’t open!

I love to add balloons on the floor to decorate EVERY party…it just gives it a little more festiveness!

AG sent two sew & share kits for the party…one for my daughter & one to giveaway. I had all the Hello Kitty stuff left from Daynie’s 6th birthday (check that out HERE) so I grabbed them so every girl could win something!

Little brother decided to boy up this party by turning the AG scooter into a motorcycle!

CUTEST thing EVERRRR!

The girls were so excited to get to scrapbooking & I was really surprised just how into it they were!

They were seriously serious about it! LOL

We really could have just left them to their selves doing this for hours…

We played some games to give away the prizes…one was to put a piece of paper on your head & draw an American Girl doll and the best pic wins! I’ve also played this at baby showers! (check that out here)

Some were really GOOD! The winner drew pants & a shirt on hers! WOW!20130817-222312.jpg

I also hid pennies in a few balloons. The girls had to find them. 20130817-222332.jpg

Then they all took turns sharing their favorite page they did in the scrapbook & telling about it!

When the party was over & most of the guests left…we continued to stuff our faces with sweets & the girls that were left played dress up with their AG dolls.

American Girl Pen Pal

So.. My child has never really been the baby doll type. Even when she was itty bitty and would get one.. She would be excited and play with it a bit then she would be over it. She never really played mommy with them or carried them everywhere.

So imagine my surprise when at 7 years old Miss Priss suddenly developed an interest and asked for an American Doll for Christmas. I was like..

Fo reals..

How did that kid even know what in the heck an American Girl doll was?

Flippin school I’m sure.

So instead of just wrapping one up and sticking it under the tree…I decided to make an experience of it.

Cuz dang it… A hundred and twenty dolla freakin doll betta have a kick a$$ experience along with it!

So I planned a fun girls trip for Daynie’s 8th BDay the 1st weekend in Feb to go to the AG store & pick out the coveted doll. An experience is what she got & it was an awesome weekend! So many memories were made that I knew she would always feel when she saw that doll.

I’m giving away one of these cute personalized American Girl shirts HERE.

20130227-193749.jpg

I was pretty shocked though that a few days after her birthday getaway she was still all about that doll!

20130227-193655.jpg

I was super happy that the large chunk of change I shelled out was paying off!

One day I signed into my resale Facebook one day and saw a post of someone wanting an American Girl Pen Pal for her daughter.

Cutest idea ever!

I didn’t tell Daynie… Just let the letter show up in the mailbox for a fun surprise!

20130227-194745.jpg

It’s so fun for these girls to hear stories of other girls and their dolls.

Daynie loved to hear the names of her pen pal’s dolls & what they like to do together. She was especially excited that her pen pal sent little school supplies for Daynie to play school with her doll. So fun!

Daynie was excited to promptly write back.

20130227-195809.jpg

Such a great way for these girls to build and improve so many different skills!

Daynie sent back pictures of her and her doll (Ginger), a letter telling what they like to do together, and some crafts for her pen pal to do and play with her dolls!

I was happy to see when her pen pal received it and they did all the crafts!

Daynie can’t wait to get another letter in the mail!
