Here’s an easy peasy recipe for you to try.

Mamma’s Meatloaf.

Great for the whole family…especially the kids. Mine asked for seconds & thirds.

I did NOT add any onions or bell peppers…which would be great in this by the way…because my kids don’t like that stuff & totally freak out when they spot it.

I’m a picture person..& very culinary challenged. So I like a lot of step by step picture book type directions.

Let me break it down for you…

First: Gather the Goods

2 eggs
1 cup instant oatmeal
1 can Hunts Seasoned Tomatoe Sauce for Meatloaf
2 lbs lean ground beef

 

Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

Mix together 1/2 can of the sauce, eggs, oats, & meat.

I put about half the oats & meat in & mix it up a little and then add the rest and finish mixing.

Your hand is the absolute best way to mix it. Sorry OCD friends…but it is.

Place the meat mixture into a loaf pan & bake uncovered at 400 for ONE hour.

After an hour…take it out & drain the grease.

Pour the remaining sauce onto the top of the meatloaf. (this is where next time…I will put ketchup instead of the sauce…per Danny’s request)

Cook for an additional 10 minutes.

Then get it out & let it set for 10 min.

Dig in!
