Can you feel your neck tense up & your body cringe at just the thought of spilled Scentsy?
It literally drives me INSANE. And we have certainly had our fair share at our house.
Just ask my kids….it seriously makes me crazy.
When we moved into our new house, we bought a used little sectional from a friend. It was in excellent condition and even still had the tags on it! The only catch was he spilled Scentsy on one of the end tables and because he was a single guy…he left it there indefinitely.
I actually left it for a few weeks because I had no time and no clue how to tackle it without ruining the wood.
And then my good friend came over & showed me a little secret…
The iron melts the wax and it sticks to the towel.
Seriously so simple you guys!
And here’s a little video of her working her magic!
These are the cutest things I have ever seen! To make your Grinch Kabobs, you will need:
-slices of white string cheese (at least 1/3 inch thick) /(I’ve also heard Marshmellows will work)
-banana slices (at least 1/3 inch thick)
-green grapes (with bottom sliced off so it lays flat)
-melted chocolate. (1/2 of a Hershey’s bar, broken into pieces and microwaved until melted, stirring at 20 second intervals will be plenty to make up to 25 poppers)

I know I’ve been pretty much MIA lately. It’s that crazy thing called life again.
One thing that has definitely helped me in my hustle to stay adrift is muh new “iPad”.
I’ve picked up a few tricks & wanted to share them with ya’ll! most of these will prob work on the iPhones too.
1. FOR SURE this is #1!!!
Put your thumbs in the middle of keyboard & swipe them suckers to the sides…and BAM…it’s a whole new world! Now you can type with your thumbs the same way you do on your iPhone.
2. Accidentally type an extra zero? That’s ok..simply remove it by swiping left to right!
Inverting your colors will turn the screen black and the text white for less eye strain.Go to Settings > General > Accessibility. Turn on “Invert Colors.”
4. Need it to charge faster?? Put it on airplane mode & it will charge twice as fast! Say what?!?
5. Just for the “iPad” users…did you know that…you can add up to six apps to the home row? AND you can add folders too?
6. For you blog masters like me, getting your blog on when on the go can be made a tiny bit faster when you know this little trick…double click that space bar to add a period & a space & automatically capitalize the next letter.
7. What else can make you blog pros get after it quicker?? A blue tooth keyboard! I love mine! And here’s a dirty little secret…ALL blue tooth keyboards work with your gear! They don’t have to say “iPad” on the box!
Oh ya’ll know…it works for iPhones too!
8. Outsmart that pesky auto correct by adding an extra letter when you want to spell a contraction.
Guided Access, once turned on, keeps users from errantly clicking or tapping within an app and ending up someplace they’re not supposed to be, or deleting something accidentally.
First, you need to go to Settings > General > Accessibility > Guided Access and turn it on. You’ll also want to turn on the Accessibility Shortcut.
Triple-click the home button in whichever app you want to turn it on for. From here, you can select any buttons that you don’t want clicked. Or you can also disable the home button while keeping the touchscreen on.
Just click the volume + button on the remote on your Apple or Apple-compatible earbuds while in camera mode to click and shoot, or the middle button (play/pause) while in video mode.
Obvi…me being The Selfie Queen…this is useful.
But…ya know…here’s a little trick for your jam sesh too…
With the remote of your your earbuds, you can go to the next tack or the previous track while listening to music or podcats.
BONUS TIP FOR YOU Do It Yoselfers: There’s a level in the Compass app!
Internet Explorer Valentine
Just Write Valentine
I was on the google looking for fun Christmas deco for my kids..& I found this! I’m soo stoked! I plan on doing it in the middle of the night so when the kiddos wake up they will be like… WHAAAAT!
It looks soo easy! There are several different ways to do it.
You will basically need:
2 large black circles (eyes)
3 medium circles (buttons)
5 small black circles (mouth)
1 orange triangle (nose)
If you are feeling really creative use some square colored construction paper and make a scarf. AND black construction paper to make a hat!
I made it mostly easy by making this free printable! Just print however many you need to get all your circles! To print or save….Right click on image and hit Open in a New Tab. In the new tab right click image again & hit either Save Image As or Print.
This is such an easy DIY holiday shirt!
What you will need:
Iron. Shirt. Ink Jet Printer. DARK Iron on Transfers.
Just use the FREE image below & print onto the iron on transfer and then follow the iron on’s directions to apply to shirt! If you have mad computer skills…add your daughter’s name to the design before printing 🙂
Christmas is right around the corner! It’s never too early to start planning those school parties or just a fun family night to make memories!
This is a super easy little spin on the traditional gingerbread house which can be hard for little hands to manage.
I have done these with my kid’s school classes for several years and they are always a huge hit! I have also thrown a Gingerbread Party for my daughter & her friends using this same technique!
Here’s what you will need…
If I am doing a class party…I just ask my children’s teacher to save the milk cartons from lunch one day. (Tip: hot glue the carton shut)
It isn’t necessary to put the frosting in a ziploc bag…but it sure makes it less messy & easy on little hands!
Graham crackers broke in halves fit perfect on the milk carton!
Use the frosting to “glue” the sides of the house (graham crackers) to the carton.
Tip: I like to hot glue the milk carton to the paper plate so that it doesn’t move around while they are decorating!
See how it shapes into a cute little house? The carton gives it just the support it needs!
Then grab whatever fun candy you want to decorate your house! Use the frosting to glue it on!
It’s that easy!
Daynie in Kindergarten 2010:
Daynie in 1st Grade 2011.
I made the shirt & had the bow made.
Daynie 2nd Grade 2012.
So obvs my child had grown out of the cutesy custom stuff and straight into Justice. Boo.
Daynie 1st Day of 3rd Grade 2013:
Garridon 1st Day of 1st Grade 2013:
I decided to make it into a mother/daughter journal for me & Daynie muffin.
I printed these sayings to glue in the front for her for a little pick me up when she opens the journal.
I started off by writing to Daynie. I wrote to her on a topic (they way she shows responsibiliy) and then I asked her a question to give her something to write back about.
Not sure why she wrote back all crazy all over the page. LoL..but I like her response. She said “getting to go to the track with your” and then asked me what I like to do with her.
This is what I glued into the back of the book. OF COURSE.
Garridon may have been a little jealous because he promptly got this spiral notebook out he got for Christmas and declared it our journal to write back & forth.
Isn’t he just the most precious man muffin in the whole wide world?
If you want to know this one says…Nina 8 Central is pretty. It cracks me up how he sounds out words sometimes. It might crack you up that the kid wrote Nina 8 central. He got it off tv or radio or something..it’s programming time as in… 9/8 central. LOL
The bottom says…and misses Kidd Kraddick. He’s been talking about Kidd a lot lately since he passed. We listen to Kidd Kraddick in the Morning every morning.
Daynie really got the hang of this quickly.
One thing about Daynie is that she has SUPER excellent beautiful & perfect handwriting. Like seriously people don’t believe it’s a kid writing. But for some reason she’s LAZY. And her writing crazy in this book just about took it’s toll on me & I had to address it! HA!
Basically…when I finish writing in the book I put it on her bed & when she finishes she puts it on mine.
It really opens up the door for discussions. She gets to ask me anything and me her. Everyone knows it’s easier to write what you want to say then to say it in person.
It also helps me to get inside her little head & peek into her world. I love to know what’s on her mind & how she views things.
I hope we can continue this through her teenage years!
I’ve included a quick list of ideas to get things rollin…
