Because, of course…

I don’t talk too terribly much about my very very conservative values on my blog.

But today, I am.

I’m pretty much at my limit with the “no tolerance for Christians” that is the norm now. Everywhere you turn…whenever a Christian stands up for their values and beliefs they are attacked.

As LGBTQ, liberals, ect fight for their “rights”, ours are being stripped from us. We are no longer allowed the right to our own values, beliefs, and religion because they have deemed it wrong. They have labeled  it as “hate” & “intolerance” when in reality, that is what we are receiving from them.

So of course, when the Duggars dare passively-aggressively stand by their beliefs that a marriage is between a man and a woman and delete photos of gay couples from THEIR Facebook page….it put a big ol BULLS EYE on them. And now…they are under attack.

It started when the Duggars responded to their kissing controversy by…issuing a kissing challenge on their Facebook page:

” God designed marriage to be a loving, dynamic relationship between a husband and wife for a lifetime. God loves marriage and it is supposed to be full of love, joy, fun and romance. Marriage is where romance belongs! Recently, Ben & Jessa received some criticism for posting a kissing picture. We are so grateful they waited to share their first kiss until after marriage. We’ve been married 30 years and are still in love! We had fun trying to duplicate Ben and Jessa’s happily married kissing picture. We challenge all married couples to take a happily married picture and post it here:”

And then of course….John Becker, of LGBT blog The Bilerico Project, posted a photo of him kissing his husband, along with a message about marriage equality and seemed shocked when the extremely, openly conservative Baptist family removed the photo from THEIR Facebook page.

John Becker knew the firestorm he was trying to create from the second he posted that photo. He absolutely knew how they would respond. The Duggars were TARGETED to be an easy kill in the name of tolerance.

And this is how the Duggars responded on their Facebook page:

“Luke 6:27 “But I say to you who hear, love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, 28 bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you.” This is such a sweet scripture that we hold dear. We will always stand for truth and the values we hold dear without compromise but we will do so in love and kindness–treating others well even if we don’t agree with them and we will do so without hateful words. This verse is a reminder of how we must always carry ourselves. Precious words from Jesus.”

Everything I’ve witnessed from the Duggars since they have gained fame has been done in love and kindness.

The Duggars put it very well in another post on their Facebook:

“We love these wise words from Rick Warren:
“Our culture has accepted two huge lies. The first is that if you disagree with someone’s lifestyle, you must fear or hate them. Second is that to love someone means that you must agree with everything they believe or do. Both are nonsense. You don’t have to compromise convictions to be compassionate.”

And so now…

A petition on launched by Jim Wissick of San Jose, California, clams that : “The Duggars have been using their fame to promote discrimination, hate, and fear-mongering against gays and transgendered people,”

His bases is from a robo call Michelle made to residents of her community:

“Hello, this is Michelle Duggar. I’m calling to inform you of some shocking news that would affect the safety of Northwest Arkansas women and children.”

“The Fayetteville City Council is voting on an ordinance this Tuesday night that would allow men – yes I said men – to use womens and girls restrooms, locker rooms, showers, sleeping areas and other areas that are designated for females only. I don’t believe the citizens of Fayetteville would want males with past child predator convictions that claim they are female to have a legal right to enter private areas that are reserved for women and girls. ”

Well…I’m from Texas and we are having the same ignorant mess in Houston.

I AGREE with Michelle. I do not want a grown man allowed in the restroom with my 9 year old daughter  just because he “feels” like a woman.

It’s a slippery slope people! Where do we draw the line?!?!

She is absolutely on point when she says that this opens up a whole new angle for child molesters and rapists to prey on their victims!

The Duggars have never hidden their beliefs from the moment they began their show on TLC. They are entitled to their beliefs and to promote them!

Why should they lose their show just because a group of people disagree with them? If we removed every single show because someone didn’t like something in it….there would be NOTHING on television! What about the millions that LOVE their show and what they stand for?!? What about us?

I’m just so over everyone getting tolerance and rights to their beliefs but Christians.

When I saw that petition it made my blood boil. All night I stewed.

So today…I choose the same passive aggressive path as the Duggars….I started OUR own petition. I stand with the Duggars and our right to freedom of speech!

Go sign and share!

Let’s push back against the intolerance against Christians and stand up for our rights!

Let’s show TLC that there are JUST as many and more AMERICANS that agree with the Duggars who enjoy them and their values on our TV screens!

  1. I’m pretty liberal, not religious at all and have no problem with gay/trans and all of that. BUT I do believe that everyone has a right to their own opinion and if you don’t like it. who care, that’s Your opinion…

    • My whole point exactly 🙂 Conservatives, like the Duggars, are entitled to their opinions and beliefs the same as the liberals. That’s what makes us AMERICA.

  2. America is founded on free speech, but that means the government not censoring you, not private companies. If you say something other people don’t like in public, no matter what your political opinion, other people can also disagree. So I don’t see a problem in people having an opinion that they shouldn’t have a tv show as much as I don’t have a problem with the Duggars stating their beliefs.

In the same way the Duggars have a right to delete anything from their fb page, a private tv channel has the ability to not show their show if they want. And people have a right to tell a tv station they don’t want the Duggars on the channel. None of this involves the government or censorship.

    • I agree with you on everything you said. It’s all correct. My problem comes with the “attack”. Let us have our opinion and you can have yours, don’t attack us for ours.

  3. You are the most idiotic person I have ever encountered. “Woe is, me. I am being persecuted. Gays have no right to live.” Blah blah. People like you are the scum of the earth, all you do is spread hate and ignorance.

    Lose some weight.

    • Wow. Just wow. Did you even read my post? I NEVER said gays have no right to live…so where the hell your quotes came from is beyond me. Your whole comment screams hypocrite! “People like you are the scum of the earth, all you do is spread hate and ignorance.” Hello…do you see the irony in that statement?

Thank you, I’m on a diet.

  4. You will always have the right to your personal beliefs, values, and religion. However, you do not have the right to be free from consequences, or for people to be tolerant of your beliefs, values, and religion. The right to marriage is actually something that was being withheld from same-sex couples. The “right” for you to disagree was never removed; you just seem to be surprised that people don’t like your opinion. Do they not also have a “right” to have a view on your opinion?

    • You are absolutely correct. And no, I’m not surprised at all that there are people that don’t like my opinion. Not everyone will agree with each other…that is the magic of an OPINION. And yes, they can have a view on my opinion. I’m simply standing up for my right to HAVE that opinion. Liberals and the LGBT believe in opinions as long as they align with their own. They label anything else as wrong and call it hate and intolerance. My fight is…let EVERYONE have their OWN opinion. Including the Duggars.

  5. This WHOLE post was irrelevant to LGBTQ hating on Christians. I am a trans man who was brought up in a religious household where I was taught to love myself and those around me despite race, gender, religion, and sexuality. LGBTQ DOES NOT hate the Christian community, I should know because on Transgender Day of Remembrance, my gender support group held a service ran by CHRISTIANS. So yeah, think about what you just said before supporting a family who claims they believe “love all and blah blah blah” .. BULLSHIT! If they really believed in the word of God to love all of mankind despite of their background, no hate would reside in their hearts to do such a thing by removing an innocent picture of two men kissing. And as for men who “feel” they are women entering women’s bathrooms? Take another look, they are women just as I am a man. We don’t just feel it, we know who we are.

    • I believe this family has ZERO hate in their hearts. They removed the picture because they choose not to support something that goes against THEIR beliefs. I am standing up for their right to do this. Just because they don’t believe the same way you do, does not mean they hate. They spread their message with love. This family DOES love all of mankind. As Christian, it is not our place to judge or condemn, but it is our place to do what God expects of us.

      • And that is to love, not hate. You need a reality check. God’s plan is for us to help each other out when one is in need, no matter where he stands or where he comes from, you lashing out at the LGBTQ community and think we should just sit back and take it, no. You are not doing God’s plan and you can read that bible until your blue in the face and twist all it says to suit your needs but you in your heart know you are doing wrong and know what they did is wrong. Maybe it’s about time The Duggars need to get off of reality tv, I mean come on, don’t Christians despise that too when they trash talk others for it. Reality tv is a joke these days and those who participate in it are as well. It’s scripted but you’re not very bright to know that obviously.

  6. Also to mention if you disagree with the backlash you received maybe you should think of the way you word what you are saying. Putting quotes around male to females “feeling” female, labeling them as sexual predators as if that’s what they seek when going to use the toilet in peace because they do not feel comfortable using the men’s restroom for fear of being beaten up or worse, murdered, or saying us Liberals have our “rights” too. Seriously, do you not read the stuff you write back to yourself? You sound seriously ignorant for trying to sound intelligent .. ironically. This post is filled with ignorance from top to bottom, yet you are so biased and so filled up with “me me me” and this is my opinion that you can’t see what you just said to be blunt-fully ignorant? You made your opinion sound like a state of fact as if what you just said is the truth and nothing but the truth. Opinions are what make this country a free to have a voice; you shutting down male to females right to use the restroom of their choice in peace is not honoring that. Stop for a second, re-read what you have wrote, then read what I have wrote and tell me you are not biased. If we as the people are to change and live in peace, we need to change the way we think, the way we were brought up to believe. The Duggars have do their right to their opinions but that’s just it, it’s THEIR opinions and not all of ours. Just because they’re famous doesn’t mean we need to listen to them and agree. It’s called having a mind of your own. You should try it some time.

  7. You write: “We are no longer allowed the right to our own values, beliefs, and religion because they have deemed it wrong.”

Please tell us, exactly, which rights you have lost. Can you still go to the church of your choice? Yes. Can you display or wear any symbol of your faith that you wish? Yes. Can you still adhere to your own religious beliefs? Yes. If you feel you can’t, please tell us how, and why, exactly.

Like racists in the post-civil rights era were no longer legally allowed to discriminate against African Americans, if you are a business owner, you may no longer legally allowed to discriminate against members of the LGBT community. That’s the law, and there is nothing in your bible against serving a same-sex couple through your business. There is quite a lot in your bible, however, about doing unto others as you would have done unto you.

You’ve got the right to free speech in this country. You do not, however, have the right to consequence-free speech. No one does. The people who are signing that petition against the Duggars are exercising their right to free speech as well. I’ve seen a lot of people like you arguing that they should be able to vote on the civil rights of others (an argument that no truly “persecuted minority” would make, by the way). Well, I see that your petition has just over 1000 signatures, while the petition against the Duggars has over 150,000. I guess the majority has spoken.

  8. Some obligatory definitions:

Bigot: A person who is intolerant toward those holding different opinions.

Intolerant: Showing unwillingness to allow the existence of views, beliefs, opinions or behavior that one does not necessarily agree with.

Prejudice: Preconceived opinion that is not based on reason or actual experience.

Discriminate: Make an unjust or prejudicial distinction in the treatment of different categories of people or things, especially on the grounds of race, sex, or age.

Discrimination: Action (your blog post in this instance) that denies social participation or human rights to categories of people based on prejudice. This includes treatment of an individual or group based on their actual or perceived membership in a certain group or social category, “in a way that is worse than the way people are usually treated”.

    Human Rights:

Homophobia: Encompassing a range of negative attitudes and feelings toward homosexuality or people who are identified or perceived as being lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender (LGBT). It can be expressed as antipathy, contempt, prejudice, aversion, or hatred, may be based on irrational fear, and is sometimes related to religious beliefs.

    A summary of your post:
“Wah, why can’t christians like me be bigots without repercussions? I miss being able to discriminate against minorities in public and not suffer the consequences! My religious beliefs should allow me to be a complete $hitbag to anybody I want and be divinely protected for it! My failure to understand human psychology and human sexuality gives me carte blanche to summarily ridule and demean anyone outside of my view of societal & religious norms neatly packaged in the pristine superficial homophobic bubble of my own ignorance. I’m better & more important than ‘those people’ because ‘god’.”

You’re an entertaining & solidifying reminder of how religion is a mental illness.

Einstein couldn’t have said it any better:

    • Once again the LGBT is putting words in Christian’s mouths that aren’t there. Nowhere in my post did I condemn or ridicule. Your definitions have no bearing on me, my beliefs, or my post. They are irrelevant to anything I have or will say. You are trying to push YOUR agenda as to who I am and what I am about on me and everyone else.

  9. No, unfortunately I’m not putting words in your mouth. You’re doing that on your own. Your very words and actions state differently. By supporting the Duggers homophobic & discriminatory behavior on television, you’re doing the very same thing. It doesn’t matter that you’re wrapping it up in a veil of Christian dogma & attempting to hide behind ‘free speech’ nonsense.

The definitions identify the core nature of the Duggers behavior, your post and your petition. Your stated agenda of supporting homophobic and discriminatory statements and behavior is in fact what you’re doing.

Your statement: “As LGBTQ, liberals, ect fight for their “rights”, ours are being stripped from us. We are no longer allowed the right to our own values, beliefs, and religion because they have deemed it wrong. They have labeled it as “hate” & “intolerance” when in reality, that is what we are receiving from them.”

You never answered Crowgirl’s question. Please tell us, exactly, which rights you have lost?

You most certainly ARE allowed to your values, beliefs and religion. The fact that you post on this very blog demonstrates this to be a fact. You are under no threat to have your blog removed or being placed under arrest by the state. The irony you fail to see is that you’re complaining about people complaining. It’s as though you’re offended because people have a different opinion than you do. Unfortunately, you don’t have the right to NOT be offended in life.

Your post ignores biblically sanctioned killings of Homosexuals to this very day. Same thing goes with Islam which gets the very same ideas from the bible. From Matthew Shepard in Wyoming to the streets of Tehran (, religiously justified killings is what’s happening here that you willingly turn a blind eye to and ultimately supporting. There’s also the problem with the religiously justified public burning alive of witches in Africa (and more recently a beheading by a Christian here in the states of a suspected witch). I don’t see you ranting about such things on your blog.

I don’t see you complaining about Catholic Church priests buggering young boys and then having the head of the church relocate the offenders to other locations in order to avoid prosecution for their crimes.

What you fail to understand here is that you’re in fact spreading & biblically justifying hatred. Your behavior is equivalent to the Westboro Baptist Church who hold up signs like ‘God Hates Fags’ while they protest funerals.

Using the bible or Christian dogma to justify something that is harmful to a group of people shows that you don’t know your history very well. Someone else once did that very thing…

“My feelings as a Christian points me to my Lord and Savior as a fighter. It points me to the man who once in loneliness, surrounded only by a few followers, recognized these Jews for what they were and summoned men to fight against them and who, God’s truth! was greatest not as a sufferer but as a fighter. In boundless love as a Christian and as a man I read through the passage which tells us how the Lord at last rose in His might and seized the scourge to drive out of the Temple the brood of vipers and adders. How terrific was His fight for the world against the Jewish poison. Today, after two thousand years, with deepest emotion I recognize more profoundly than ever before in the fact that it was for this that He had to shed His blood upon the Cross. As a Christian I have no duty to allow myself to be cheated, but I have the duty to be a fighter for truth and justice…. And if there is anything which could demonstrate that we are acting rightly it is the distress that daily grows. For as a Christian I have also a duty to my own people…. When I go out in the morning and see these men standing in their queues and look into their pinched faces, then I believe I would be no Christian, but a very devil if I felt no pity for them, if I did not, as did our Lord two thousand years ago, turn against those by whom to-day this poor people is plundered and exploited.”

~ Adolf Hitler, in his speech in Munich on 12 April 1922

  10. I’m still wondering about what religious rights and freedoms you think you’ve lost. You made a pretty big, inflammatory statement without offering anything in the way of specifics or evidence.

    • I agree with Crowgirl. Nina fails to identify what rights she thinks that she’s lost.

Nina somehow attempts to play the victim here by claiming persecution (when others point out specific failures in bogus assertions) when she supports bigotry and homophobia, while those who actually ARE faced with physical abuse up to and including death are the actual victims. The glaring ignorance is enormous.

The very essence of this sight is that of a victim mentality dressed up in narcissist clothing while crying wolf.

Morgan Spurlock did an episode titled: “30 Days: Straight Man in a Gay World”

It’s about a 24-year old straight man who moves to San Francisco to live in what is known to have the largest gay community in the country. The episode also talks with a pastor. I share this in an attempt to identify a variety of things you are CLEARLY unaware of, which this specific episode addresses.

When you’ve faced the end of a gun or a knife due to no other reason than what others perceive about you, perhaps THEN will you be able to play the victim card. Until then, there’s nothing to be found here but the very antithesis of the central message of Christianity – Love and acceptance.

This isn’t about free speech Nina. It’s about supporting a very harmful ideology that kills human beings.

  11. When ignorance meets biblical ideology, the results are unparalleled human depravity:

I find it curious how little Christians actually read their ‘good’ book when there’s multiple components of the psychology for this particular deity that raises an eyebrow to those who’ve taken the time to actually read it.

    Things like:
    Ritual Human sacrifice: Judges 11:29-40
Rape, Murder and Pillage: Numbers 31:7-18
    Murder: 2 Chronicles 13:4, Ezekiel 20:6
    Cannibalism: Isaiah 49:26, 2 Kings 6:29
    Pillage: Deuteronomy 20: 13-14
Death to the Rape Victim: Deuteronomy 22:23-24
    Abortion / justified miscarriage: Ecclesiastes 6:3-5, Job 3:16-19, Psalms 58:3-8, Hosea 9:11-14, Amos 1:13, 2 Kings 15:16
    Animal Cruelty: Josiah 11:6, 2 Samuel 8:4
    Incest: Genesis 19: 30-38, Genesis 20: 11-12
    Slavery: Leviticus 25:44-45, Exodus 21: 2-7, 1 Timothy 6:1-2
    Sexual Slavery: Exodus 21:7-11
Slavery (sanctioned by Jesus) Ephesians 6:5
Abuse of Slaves: Luke 12: 47-48
    Spousal Abuse: 1 Peter 3:17, Numbers 5:5-31
    Child Abuse/killing: Psalm 137:9
    Child sexual molestation: Numbers 31:17-18
    Genocide: Genesis 6:11-17 & 7:11-24, Joshua 8:22-25

    Prejudice against:
    Race: Matthew 15: 22-28
    Nationality: Matthew 11: 21-24
    Religion: 2 Kings 10: 19-27
    Sex: Numbers 1:2, 20: 13-15, 30:3-16, 31:14-18
    Sexual Orientation: Leviticus 18: 22-23, 20:13

    Unfortunately the list goes on.

“Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. For truly I tell you, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished.”
    ~ Jesus

“Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword. For I came to SET A MAN AGAINST HIS FATHER, AND A DAUGHTER AGAINST HER MOTHER, AND A DAUGHTER-IN-LAW AGAINST HER MOTHER-IN-LAW; and A MAN’S ENEMIES WILL BE THE MEMBERS OF HIS HOUSEHOLD.”
    ~ Jesus

And you actually defend this cult of death.
